| Enemy spotted; Hiromi Copress and squad [Mass Produced Z Gundams] vs. unknown Rogue Gundam Power Armor | |

The recent rash of rogue power armors in the capitol city was troubling. Enough that the even the local law enforcement was under orders from the USMP to step up security. One of the squads called in was under the command of Hiromi Copress. The squad of mass produced Z Gundam power armors were on their first patrol when they ran into trouble. "Take cover!" Hiromi shouted to his squad as they came under beam weapons fire. Ian is struck in the shoulder but the rest make it to cover without harm. "How bad is it?" "I wouldn't worry just yet," Ian said as he shrugged the shoulder recently hit. It didn't move as freely as before and looked a hell of a lot worse than it was. The paint burned off and the metal was deformed but otherwise functioning. Taking positions Ian and Hiromi laid down cover fire while Amber and Jean slowly stepped back from the combat. "I saw a road back there several feet that will take us to the flank of this asshole," Amber said as she observed the map display in her heads up display. Relaying the coordinates to Jean the two started their plan to flank the enemy. Further down the street a single Gundam power armor was firing its beam rifle at the pair in front of it. Now behind cover the Gundam could not strike at Hiromi or Ian. "Returning fire!" Ian shouted and the two popped up from their cover to fire on the Gundam. Several beams nearly strike the Gundam down the street and is enough to force it into cover. Suddenly an unknown heat source appears on Hiromi's sensors. "What is that... a plane?" Hiromi stopped firing and returned to cover while peering into the sky. High above a plane could be seen but it wasn't any ordinary plane. "High energy heat source detected, evade!" No sooner did Hiromi warn Ian did the two pilot's cover explode before them. A large beam vaporized the car and ground into a smoldering crater. Hiromi and Ian fell back while returning fire only to have the unknown Gundam power armor land a direct hit on Hiromi in his chest. The blast tore into much of his armor and with enough force to sending flying back into a car which crushed easily under his weight. Ian returned fire and managed to strike a hit before having to evade another attack from the plane in the sky. "Hiromi respond!" Amber yelled into the comm as she saw Hiromi's vitals take a dive. "Please respond!" By now Amber and Jean reached their position to only witness a transformation. The unknown Gundam landed in their direction with what looked like a large beam cannon over its right shoulder and a machine cannon on its left. Above their heads the plane flew over leaving the battlefield. Quickly the pair took aim and fired several rounds into the Gundam causing it to jump back before being overwhelmed. However the unknown Gundam responded in kind and opened fire with its large beam cannon. The blast was similar to what the plane had previous fired on Hiromi and Ian earlier. Amber was directly in front of the blast and had to act quickly. Grabbing a nearby car Amber held it up like a shield to absorb the blast. The strength of the blast reduced the car to scrap metal and sent Amber skidding back several feet before collapsing. Blocking such an attack had resulted in the hands being melted to a degree and they stuck onto the remains of the car. Jean fired another round into the Gundam but it did little. Now facing the same thing as Amber did Jean looked for his escape when he noticed Hiromi's vitals rise suddenly. "Like I'll let you do that again!" Hiromi shouted as he came down on the rogue Gundam from the sky. Beam sabers drawn the unknown Gundam could not evade in time due to the weight of the beam cannon. Swinging downwards Hiromi is able to slice the Gundam's beam cannon and slice open a small line down the Gundam's chest. In respond the Gundam lifted up its knee and hit Hiromi in the chest. With little armor available the blow was enough to knock out Hiromi. Just as Hiromi fell to the floor Ian opened fired with his mega beam rifle and struck the Gundam in the left shoulder. The armaments inside exploded causing additional damage to the Gundam and sends it into a nearby building. "Hiromi, damnit." Ian cursed as he viewed the damage Hiromi received. Without warning a metal blade flies out of the debris and smoke of the Gundam's collapse into the building towards Ian. Quick action saves Ian from being hit by the blade and instead plunges into Ian's mega beam rifle. Jean comes up on the Gundam's last location but finds nothing. Sometime during the flight of the blade the unknown Gundam used it was a means to escape the ground. Taking stock of the current status of each member Ian stops Jean from perusing the enemy. Result: Tie Hiromi Copress and squad: +7XP and +5% Sync; 2 Days Repair and 1 Day Injury |
